Modern technologies that have entered the optical instrumentation market have significantly increased our capabilities. With the Levenhuk Rainbow D50L PLUS 2M digital microscope, Moonstone not only makes it possible to observe plant and animal cells or microorganisms but also to save the results of your studies by taking photos and videos of the observed samples. The kit includes everything needed to carry out interesting experiments with the microscope. It is possible to share your research by posting the obtained images and videos on Facebook, Instagram, and other social networks.
Quality optics
The kit includes three objective lenses: 4x, 10x, and 40xs. The most powerful objective has a special spring mechanism that protects the optics from accidental damage. In case of error during focusing, even if the objective were to lower until touching the sample, the spring mechanism behind the lens would retract it, avoiding damage to the objective or the sample. The 2x Barlow lens doubles the magnification of any objective used. The maximum magnification factor for this microscope is as much as 1280x!
The lenses are made of quality optical glass treated with a multilayer anti-reflective coating for better light transmission. The produced image will always have good contrast and excellent detail.
Digital camera
The microscope is equipped with a modern 2 Mpx digital camera. The camera is installed in place of an eyepiece and then connected to a computer. The magnified images will then appear on the screen. In this way, a child can show interesting samples to parents and friends. A teacher can show all stages of an experiment to their students. Furthermore, of course, the camera allows capturing beautiful images and videos of the observed objects.
Combined illumination
The microscope is equipped with two LED light sources. The bottom light is used for observing transparent samples like thin sections of animal or plant tissues, or a drop of fresh water. Opaque objects, such as a paper towel, are observed using the top illumination. Studying semi-transparent objects requires illumination from both directions. It is also possible to adjust the brightness to optimally view each specific sample.
Durable and practical body
The microscope body is made of metal, which is why this is a particularly reliable microscope suitable for frequent use. For user convenience, the head is inclined at a 45-degree angle and rotates 360 degrees around its axis. This feature is particularly useful when working in groups: it will no longer be necessary to move the microscope, just rotate the head.
The microscope is powered via AC mains or with standard batteries. The camera is powered via the USB cable.
Attention: Refer to the specification table for the correct mains voltage and never attempt to connect a 110 V device to a 220 V outlet or vice versa without using a converter. Remember that the mains voltage in the United States and Canada is 110 V and 220–240 V in most European countries.
Experiment kit
The K50 experiment kit will be especially useful for those taking their first steps into the wonderful world of the microcosm. The kit includes prepared and ready-to-use slides, special tools for creating your own samples, and a very useful guide with advice, tips, and experiment descriptions.
Protective case
The plastic case included in the package allows you to keep the microscope and all its accessories in one place, without losing anything. Furthermore, it protects the instrument during transport.
