The Levenhuk Rainbow D2L 0.3M Digital Microscope, Moonstone, is the perfect gift for a student. This microscope allows you to conduct a wide variety of interesting experiments both with ready-to-use slides and also with objects from everyday life, awakening our curiosity. Thanks to the digital camera included in the kit, it is also possible to save the results of your research. Even a beginner researcher can capture stunning images and videos and share them with friends on Facebook or Instagram.
High-quality optics
The lenses are made of special high-transparency optical glass. All optical surfaces are treated with a multi-layer anti-reflective coating, which is why the microscope always produces clear images of the observed sample, with good contrast and rich in detail. The three objectives allow you to achieve a wide range of magnifications from 40x to 400x. Magnification can be easily changed by rotating the objective turret.
Digital camera features
The microscope comes equipped with a modern high-quality 0.3 Mpx digital camera. The camera is inserted into the eyepiece tube (in place of the eyepiece) and then connected to the computer via the included USB cable. Enlarged images of the observed samples will be displayed on the PC monitor, a much more comfortable view than through the eyepiece. Moreover, it is possible to take beautiful photos and record videos of the observed samples. Almost all researchers want to share their results with others: this is easily done thanks to the Levenhuk Rainbow D2L 0.3M digital microscope, Moonstone. Make your Facebook profile different by posting something interesting and educational, like magnified images of sugar crystals or videos showing the movement of Artemia. A USB cable (included in the kit) serves as a power source for the camera and for connecting to the PC. Compatible operating system: Windows, Mac OS, Linux.
Observing transparent and opaque samples
The microscope is equipped with two LED illumination systems. Using bottom illumination, it is possible to observe transparent samples such as microorganisms in a drop of water or thin plant sections. The top illumination allows for observing opaque objects like leaves, coins, fabrics, paper, and much more. Both light sources are necessary for observing semi-transparent objects. The brightness is adjustable for better viewing of every sample.
Practical design
The microscope body is made of quality plastic, much lighter than metal but quite reliable and suitable for frequent use. The monocular head inclined at 45 degrees allows for a comfortable usage position. The illumination can be powered either by batteries or via wall outlet.
The camera is powered by the computer via the USB cable.
Attention: Refer to the specification table for correct mains voltage and never attempt to connect a 110 V device to a 220 V socket and vice versa without using a converter. Remember that the mains voltage in the USA and Canada is 110 V and 220–240 V in most European countries.
