Levenhuk New Skyline PLUS 114/900 EQ2 Telescope #86207

The Levenhuk New Skyline PLUS 114/900 EQ2 is a smart choice for beginners who want more capabilities than entry-level models can offer. The Newtonian optical design with a 114mm primary mirror gathers plenty of light, making the telescope perfect for observing our solar system and deep-sky objects alike. The advanced EQ2 equatorial mount provides rock-solid stability and smooth tracking, which is critical when working at high magnifications.

What you will see

Within our solar system, you can study lunar craters and seas in fine detail, make out Saturn’s rings and Jupiter’s cloud bands, spot the Galilean moons, and see the phases of Venus and the changing appearance of Mars. The Levenhuk New Skyline PLUS 114/900 EQ2 also lets you observe bright targets beyond our system: open star clusters, double stars, the Orion Nebula, selected globular clusters, and the Andromeda Galaxy.

For a beginner, this telescope delivers a highly satisfying set of views, including a bright and detailed Moon, the major planets, and the most interesting deep-sky objects.

Full kit for a quick start

The generous set of included accessories lets you use different magnifications and choose the best viewing mode for each target. The 25mm eyepiece is an excellent choice when you want to take in a large patch of sky at once, such as finding a constellation or studying an extended nebula. The 10mm eyepiece comes in handy for the detailed exploration of the Moon, planets, or compact deep-sky objects. When you need even more detail, use the 2x Barlow lens, which doubles the magnification of any eyepiece. For easy target finding, the kit includes a 5x24 optical finderscope.

The telescope sits on an EQ2 equatorial mount, which outperforms the basic EQ1 model in several parameters. The EQ2 features a stronger, more stable construction, ensuring that the image stays steady even when you touch the telescope or the wind picks up. The mount’s higher payload capacity lets you use heavier accessories and leaves plenty of room for future upgrades. The slow-motion controls on both axes work more smoothly and precisely than on the EQ1, which is especially important at high magnifications and when tracking objects for long periods.

The adjustable aluminum tripod adapts to any observer’s height, and the accessory tray keeps everything you need within easy reach.
