The Levenhuk MED D45T LCD is a trinocular microscope with a 5 MP LCD digital camera. It is designed for visual observations using phase contrast, in bright or dark field, and with oil immersion and Köhler illumination. Additionally, with this microscope, you can take photos and record videos of the entire research process. The microscope is ideal for a microbiologist, biochemist, doctor, or laboratory technician.
Advantages of the phase contrast method
It is worth emphasizing that this optical instrument also allows phase contrast microscopy. This method improves the contrast and sharpness of images of transparent and semi-transparent samples to a level achievable by the standard method only by treating samples with dye. That is why phase contrast microscopy is essential for studying samples in vivo in their natural conditions, as the staining process would cause cell death. This method can be applied to the analysis of drinking water and parasites, cytological and hematological analyses, and other research fields.
Planachromatic optics with infinity correction
The microscopes of the Levenhuk MED 45 series are equipped with an infinity-corrected optical system, used in professional and high-level microscopes. This system includes planachromatic objectives and allows the transmission of clear images with high contrast and excellent flatness.
One of the most important features of the infinity-corrected optical system is that it allows the installation of additional components in the optical path between the objective lens and the eyepiece. Additional parts include a polarizer for epi-fluorescence and devices. Overall, the modular design and ease of use make the Levenhuk MED 45 microscopes optimal instruments for use in various microscopy fields, including hematology, histology, microbiology labs, and much more.
Rotatable trinocular head
The trinocular head is divided into a binocular viewing module and a separate eyepiece tube for positioning the digital camera. The camera is included in the kit and enables taking photos and recording high-definition videos. Images captured by the microscope objective can be displayed on the camera's touch LCD screen as well as on an external display or connected TV screen. No software or driver installation is required: the camera will start working immediately after being connected.
Digital camera with touch LCD screen
The camera shows images on the built-in screen in real-time, so there is no need to look through the eyepieces. This makes laboratory work easier and more comfortable, as well as reducing eye strain and shoulder joint tension. Additionally, you can connect an external data storage device, headphones, computer mouse, and other accessories to the camera. The software allows modifying image size, brightness and contrast, exposure time, and white balance, calibrating the camera and objective lenses, as well as measuring samples and structures (various units of measurement available). Furthermore, the program enables granulometric particle analysis. The trinocular head rotates 360° around its own axis, and the viewing part has a comfortable 30° inclination.
Optical capabilities
The kit includes WF 10x widefield eyepieces. You can adjust the diopters to adapt the optical system to your vision. Both coarse and fine focus adjustments are available. The revolving nosepiece can hold five objectives; however, the kit includes only four. These are planachromatic phase contrast objectives that reduce optical distortion and enhance image color and contrast. The 40x and 100x objective lenses have spring-loaded mounts. A 100x objective can be used for oil immersion. All optics are made of special glass with an anti-fungal coating.
Comfortable work with slides
The double-coordinate stage has a mechanical translator. Under the stage, there is a phase contrast condenser (the dark field is only usable for the "dry" observation method), and below it is an LED light with brightness adjustment. The light is powered by an AC power supply.

Attention:
For information regarding the correct mains voltage, consult the specifications table. Never attempt to connect a 110 V device to a 220 V power outlet and vice versa without using a voltage converter. Note that mains voltage is 220–240 V in most European countries and 110 V in the United States and Canada.
