The Discovery Atto Polar digital microscope is a biological optical microscope with a 5 MP digital camera. It can be used to view the microcosm as well as to save images of the specimen in photo or video format. The microscope has a magnification range between 40x and 1000x, allowing detailed study of the specimen regardless of its transparency level and the possibility to conduct oil immersion experiments. Included in the kit is a comprehensive educational book about the microcosm.
Achromatic optics, magnification range between 40x and 1000x
The monocular head can be rotated 360° around the vertical axis. The 45° inclination of the head ensures greater comfort during prolonged observations. The optical system includes a wide-field 10x eyepiece with a field center pointer and four achromatic objectives with magnifications of 4x, 10x, 40x, and 100x. The 40x and 100x objective lenses are equipped with spring mechanisms for additional protection. The instrument features both coarse and fine focusing.
Dual LED illumination
The microscope stage is equipped with a mechanical translator for optimal use of micro-preparation techniques of the specimen. The illumination system consists of variable intensity LED lights. The upper illumination is above the stage and the lower illumination is below. Both lights can be powered by batteries (not included) or by an AC adapter (the AC adapter is included in the kit). The microscope is equipped with an Abbe condenser with iris diaphragm and filter holder.
5 MP digital camera for capturing photos and videos
The 5 MP camera gives this model an advantage over competitors. The camera can be installed in the optical tube of the head in place of the eyepiece and connected to a computer via USB cable. Software installation is required using the included CD. The camera can upload real-time images to a computer screen at a resolution of 2592x1944, as well as take photos and record videos. Basic image processing functions are available for both photos and videos.
The educational book “Invisible World” is included in the kit
The book “Invisible World” allows quick learning on how to use a microscope and how to navigate the variety of the microcosm. The detailed volume is written in an easy-to-understand language and contains vivid illustrations; it also explains scientific theories and prepares students to apply this knowledge in practice. Simple scientific experiments can be performed at home with the help of this educational text.
