To create the bullet Tipped Triple-Shock X (TTSX), Barnes took their best-selling bullet, the TSX, and added a polymer tip. The aerodynamic tip increases the ballistic coefficient, thereby improving its ballistic performance at long range.
Like the TSX, the Tipped Triple-Shock is lead-free and is entirely copper. The numerous grooves in the lower part of the bullet’s shank reduce pressures and increase intrinsic accuracy. Ideal for hunting, especially deer, the TTSX bullet expands instantly, doubling its original diameter. Instead of deforming into a lead mushroom, the TTSX splits into four copper petals with the jagged tip, ensuring maximum penetration capability.
