Discovery Channel informs, entertains, and inspires its audience around the world about the wonders of our planet, its diversity, and its surprises. Offering millions of people the chance to make new discoveries and satisfy their curiosities, Discovery provides an engaging mix of storytelling, spanning multiple genres: science and technology, exploration, adventure, history, and a behind-the-scenes look at people, places, and organizations shaping the world we live in.
We are proud to present the Discovery optical instruments line, produced by Levenhuk and sponsored by Discovery.
The Discovery Scope 3 set combines a microscope, a telescope, and binoculars in one kit. Beyond the optical tools, the kit includes more than 30 accessories and the educational book “Space. Vacuum not-empty.” The set was specifically designed for those who have never used this type of optical instruments and want to try studying various subjects. The set is housed in a brightly colored package, making it a perfect gift.
Refracting telescope with standard-size tripod
The telescope included in the kit is a refractor with an AZ mount. It allows observation of the Moon, the brightest objects in the night sky, and terrestrial landscapes. Since the telescope is mounted on a standard-sized tripod, it can be easily adjusted to fit the user’s height. Using the instrument is not difficult at all. The telescope can be rotated and moved up and down, left and right just like a terrestrial spotting scope. For added convenience, the mount features a practical focus adjustment knob. The telescope is also complemented by an optical finder, eyepieces, and a mirror diagonal. The educational book “Space. Vacuum not-empty” offers a quick and effective way to learn new things about astronomy. This colorful guide is written in easy-to-understand language, without complex terms. It describes how the telescope works and explains how to prepare to observe interesting objects in the night sky. The volume covers the Sun, the planets of the Solar System and their satellites, comets, meteors, and distant stars.
Biological microscope with bottom illumination
The optical microscope with bottom illumination allows studying any sample, such as prepared slides (the kit contains various samples, and others can be purchased separately). The set enables studying thin sample sections that can be prepared independently using the tools included in the kit. Moreover, with this microscope, it is possible to study life in a drop of water.
The microscope offers magnification settings from 150x to 900x and is equipped with dual illumination. The built-in light source has a mirror on one side and an LED on the other. When ambient light is sufficient, simply use the mirror side to save battery. Use the LED bulb in darker rooms to avoid eye strain. The bulb is powered by standard batteries.
Compact binoculars for trekking
The third optical instrument in the set is compact binoculars with 4x magnification. Comfortable to hold, very lightweight, and foldable down to minimal size to easily fit in a pocket or bag. Suitable for a wide range of activities, including nature observation and urban walks. It reproduces images excellently under good lighting conditions.
