The Levenhuk Fatum Z500 monocular thermal viewer is a device with a perfect balance between performance and reliability. It can be used for outdoor activities: night surveillance, search and security operations, hunting, forestry, hiking, and sports. Designed in a compact and easy-to-carry format, it is easily held with one hand and can also be used in poor weather conditions.
Observations can be made with magnifications ranging from 1.7x to 6.8x, with smooth digital zoom offering great freedom of observation. The microbolometric matrix has a resolution of 400x300 pixels and a total of 6 available color palettes. There is an automatic hot spot detection function.
In terms of detection and identification range, this monocular thermal viewer offers excellent performance. Larger objects, such as cars, can be detected at distances up to 1700 m, while typical hunting targets (wild boars, deer, etc.) can be detected starting from 450–590 m. The target can also be illuminated by a laser designator, whose operational range is limited to 200 m.
The power source is a non-removable unit that includes two rechargeable batteries, for a total capacity of 6000 mAh. Thanks to this, the monocular thermal viewer has up to 5 hours of runtime at full capacity. Other design features include a tripod mount (with 1/4” threading) and a water-resistant body (IP66 protection rating).
The monocular thermal viewer is equipped with an integrated recorder; videos are stored in the device memory (16 GB). Additionally, there is a rangefinder to measure the distance of various objects. This function proves particularly useful during camping and hunting. It has a microHDMI port, a USB Type-C port, and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity for pairing with external devices. The monocular thermal viewer supports the TargetIR mobile app, which can be used to adjust settings, organize photo and video collection, or view images in real-time on the smartphone screen, allowing multiple people to view together simultaneously.
