The Levenhuk MED 40B binocular microscope features a professional plan-achromatic optical system with Köhler illumination adjustment and magnification from 40x to 1000x. The microscope will be useful for both a biochemist and a university professor. This optical instrument is suitable for various highly complex microscopic studies and allows observing an object with a good level of detail.
Plan-achromatic optics with infinity correction
The microscopes in the Levenhuk MED 40 series are equipped with an infinity-corrected optical system, used in professional and high-level microscopes. This system includes plan-achromatic objectives and allows transmission of clear, high-contrast images with excellent flatness.
One of the most important features of the infinity-corrected optical system is that it allows the installation of additional components in the optical path between the objective lens and the eyepiece. Additional parts include a polarizer for epi-fluorescence and devices. Overall, the modular design and ease of use make Levenhuk MED 40 microscopes optimal tools for various microscopy fields, for work in hematology, histology, microbiology laboratories, and much more.
Rotatable binocular head
The microscope is equipped with a binocular head that allows simultaneous observation with both eyes. The viewing module is comfortably inclined at 30°, so neck muscles do not tire even after long hours of observation. The head can be rotated around its axis by 360°. The microscope is very useful for group observations when several researchers need to study the same sample.
Optical capabilities
The kit includes optical accessories such as widefield eyepieces and five plan-achromatic infinity-corrected objective lenses. The eyepieces have 10x magnification, provide clear vision, and allow diopter adjustment. The objective lenses reduce optical distortion, enhance contrast and color, and also the field of view. They are mounted in a five-position revolving nosepiece. The high magnification objectives have spring-loaded mounts — a 100x objective lens allows using oil immersion during observations. All optical surfaces of the accessories are protected with anti-fungal coating. Sharpness is adjusted with coarse and fine focusing knobs.
Comfortable work with slides
The mechanical stage with translator can move in two directions. The light source is located under the stage. It is a 5 W LED. An Abbe condenser with iris diaphragm adjusts the light intensity.
Illumination is powered by an AC power supply. The brightness of the light is adjustable.

Attention:
For information regarding the correct mains voltage, consult the specification table. Never attempt to connect a 110 V device to a 220 V power outlet and vice versa without using a voltage converter. Please note that mains voltage is 220–240 V in most European countries and 110 V in the United States and Canada.
