The optical system of the Levenhuk Army 8x40 binocular is based on large Porro prisms and reproduces bright, clear images with well-saturated colors. The high-quality BaK-4 glass is fully multi-coated with an anti-reflective treatment that improves image contrast and clarity. It is possible to focus on distant targets, as well as objects located as close as 3 meters from the observer. The large central focusing wheel, with a knurled surface, is used to adjust sharpness. The retractable (twist-up) eyecups and diopter adjustment make it easier to adapt the binocular to individual needs.

The sturdy metal housing is waterproof and nitrogen-filled to prevent condensation. It is also equipped with a standard hole for tripod mounting.
