Forster Co-Ax Case & Cartridge Concentricity Gauge + Dial
The exclusive control bench allows ensuring uniformity by measuring 3 critical dimensions:

- the thickness of the case neck walls
- the concentricity of the case and the neck
- thealignment of the bullet

Measurements are made with increments of one thousandth of an inch, so the precision is very high.

What makes this tool unique is that it is able to check the alignment of the bullet and the case in relation to the central axis of the case or the entire cartridge

Case Neck Wall Thickness Check:

By inserting the case on the appropriate pilot and taking measurements with the tool's tip at several points around the neck, the wall thickness of the latter can be determined. A variation of 0.0015" or more indicates inconsistent thickness and suggests the need to trim the neck either from the inside or the outside.

Case Neck Concentricity Check:

As with the thickness test, the concentricity test is performed by inserting the case on the appropriate pilot. The case is then slowly rotated with the tip resting on the neck walls. A variation greater than 0.0015" or 0.002" indicates a concentricity problem of the neck.

Coaxiality Check of Loaded Cartridges:

Bullets at the muzzle do not leave the rifling at a constant angle unless they are seated in the neck perfectly. The uniqueness of the bench lies in the fact that it allows the measurement of the alignment of the bullet and the case in relation to the central axis of the cartridge. A deviation from 0.000" to 0.002" is to be considered excellent; instead, greater than 0.004" highlights a problem that should be corrected to ensure satisfactory performance, either by trimming the outside of the neck or by using an appropriate seating die.
