The Discovery Femto Polar is a classic monocular microscope that makes it possible to examine the microcosm both in reflected and transmitted light, with magnification from 40x to 400x. It can show the cellular structure of plants and insects, life in a drop of water, protozoa, and much more. This microscope is a great assistant for teachers who want to conduct simple biology experiments directly in the classroom. Additionally, a book rich in microcosm information is included. Reading it makes the experiments even more interesting and varied.
The achromatic optics allow for clear and detailed viewing of samples. The instrument’s revolving nosepiece is equipped with three objectives: 4x, 10x, and 40x spring-loaded. The wide-field eyepiece offers a clear 10x view. The monocular head has an ergonomic tilt of 45°, making prolonged observations more comfortable. Additionally, the head rotates 360 degrees around the vertical axis, which is optimal for group experiments. The microscope does not need to be moved to share the image observation with a research partner, as the head can be rotated as needed. The instrument is equipped with separate coarse and fine focusing knobs, enabling smooth resolution adjustment.
The lighting system consists of LED lights positioned above and below the stage with brightness adjustment. The lower light is modulated by a disc diaphragm, which helps control its brightness. The instrument is powered by batteries (not included) or via mains power (AC adapter included). The stage comes with clips for securing slides.
The book entitled “Invisible World” is a fascinating addition to the microscope. It illustrates the microcosm and various scientific experiments. It is written in easily understandable language and contains vividly colored illustrations. Historical facts about the birth of microscopy and theoretical explanations about microorganisms are narrated, along with experiments that can be reproduced directly at home using the Discovery Femto Polar microscope.
