To create the bullet Tipped Triple-Shock X (TTSX)Barnes took their best-selling bullet, the TSX, and added a polymer tip. The aerodynamic tip increases the ballistic coefficient, thereby improving ballistic qualities over long ranges.
Like the TSX, the Tipped Triple-Shock is lead-free and is entirely copper. The numerous grooves on the lower part of the body serve to reduce pressures and increase inherent accuracy. Ideal for hunting, particularly for deer, the TTSX bullet expands instantly, doubling its original diameter. Instead of deforming into a lead mushroom, the TTSX bullet splits into four copper petals with the jagged tip, ensuring maximum penetration capacity.
