To create the bullet Tipped Triple-Shock X (TTSX), Barnes took their best-selling TSX bullet and added a polymer tip. The aerodynamic tip increases the ballistic coefficient, thus improving ballistic performance over long distances.
Like the TSX, the Tipped Triple-Shock is lead-free and is entirely copper. The numerous grooves on the lower body help reduce pressures and increase inherent accuracy. Ideal for hunting, especially deer, the TTSX bullet expands instantly, doubling its original diameter. Instead of deforming into a lead mushroom, the TTSX bullet splits into four copper petals with a serrated tip, ensuring maximum penetration capability.
