Discovery Channel informs, entertains, and inspires its audience around the world about the wonders of our planet, its diversity, and its surprises. Offering millions of people the opportunity to make new discoveries and satisfy their curiosities, Discovery provides an engaging mix of narratives, spanned across multiple genres: science and technology, exploration, adventure, history, and a behind-the-scenes look at people, places, and organizations shaping the world we live in.
We are proud to present the Discovery optical instruments line, produced by Levenhuk and sponsored by Discovery.
The Discovery Scope 2 set includes two optical instruments: a microscope and a telescope. The microscope will be greatly helpful in mastering the basics of microbiology. The telescope will prove essential for learning the fundamentals of astronomy. In addition to the optical instruments, the kit includes various practical accessories useful for exploring the world and conducting scientific experiments. The kit is completed by the educational book “Space. Not-empty Void”.
Refractor telescope with table tripod
The telescope in the Discovery Scope 2 set is a compact refractor on an AZ mount, equipped with an aluminum table tripod. It can be placed by the window to watch the stars directly from home. This telescope allows observation of the Moon, meteor showers, and individual stars.
Being a basic model, this telescope is useful to get an idea of the vastness of space. It will be possible to observe the brightest celestial bodies in the night sky! This telescope can also be used as a powerful spotting scope for observing terrestrial landscapes. The telescope comes with a well-equipped accessory kit; there will be no need to purchase anything separately.
The educational book “Space. Not-empty Void” will be useful to learn new things about astronomy. By reading this book, one can find answers to various beginner questions about how a telescope is built, how to make observations, and what interesting objects can be seen in the Solar System and beyond. The book is written in clear and evocative language and enriched with vivid illustrations. It is a pleasant and useful addition to the Discovery Scope 2 telescope set.
Biological microscope with illumination
The microscope in the Discovery Scope 2 set is a classic biological microscope with lower illumination. It is suitable for observing transparent samples. It can be used without problems with prepared slide sets available in any store. The microscope is ready to use immediately after unpacking, as the kit includes numerous prepared slides. This kit allows examination of thinly sliced samples prepared independently and observation of life in a drop of water. All instruments needed to create samples are already included in the kit.
The available optics offer three fixed magnification settings, from 75x to 900x. The illumination system has an integrated light source with a mirror on one side and an LED on the other. The mirror can be easily used to direct a light beam from an external source onto the sample, while the LED can be turned on when working in low light. The LED is powered by standard AA batteries.
