Discovery Channel informs, entertains, and inspires its audience around the world about the wonders of our planet, its diversity, and its surprises. Offering millions of people the opportunity to make new discoveries and satisfy their curiosity, Discovery provides an engaging mix of narratives, spanning multiple genres: science and technology, exploration, adventure, history, and a behind-the-scenes look at people, places, and organizations shaping the world we live in.
We are proud to present the Discovery line of optical instruments, produced by Levenhuk and sponsored by Discovery.
The Discovery Spark 767 AZ is a classic entry-level Newtonian reflector, designed for observing deep-sky objects. With this telescope, it is possible to study double stars as well as the largest globular star clusters and open clusters. Nearly all deep-sky objects in the Messier catalog can be observed, though not in great detail. As for celestial bodies closer to Earth, the Moon and the so-called terrestrial planets can be explored.
The optics of the Discovery Spark 767 AZ telescope are made of glass with anti-reflective coating, producing clear, sharp, and crystal-clear images. The altazimuth mount allows for easy control of the telescope by moving the tube horizontally and vertically. Pointing the instrument at astronomical objects is an easy activity to master, even for a beginner. The vertical axis of the mount features a locking knob that ensures highly precise aiming.
Three eyepieces and a 2x Barlow lens are also included, allowing experimentation with magnifications. The accessories are conveniently stored in the tripod tray, which is height adjustable. It should also be noted that the educational book “Space. Not-Empty Vacuum” is an excellent resource for aspiring astronomers and is provided in the colorful gift box along with the telescope and its accessories. The book is a guide to space exploration, helping to discover new information about celestial bodies or to review knowledge before proceeding with star observation.
