Discovery Channel informs, entertains, and inspires its audience around the world about the wonders of our planet, its diversity, and its surprises. Offering millions of people the opportunity to make new discoveries and satisfy their curiosity, Discovery presents an engaging mix of storytelling across multiple genres: science and technology, exploration, adventure, history, and a behind-the-scenes look at people, places, and organizations shaping the world we live in.
We are proud to present the Discovery optical instrument line, produced by Levenhuk and sponsored by Discovery.
The Discovery Spark 114 AZ is a Newtonian reflector telescope perfect for studying deep-sky objects. It can be used to observe nebulae, star clusters, and double stars. It is also suitable for exploring celestial bodies within Saturn's orbit. The telescope is sold with an illustrated educational book about space. It will become a wonderful guide for budding astronomers, thanks to its ability to bring users closer to the universe's mysteries.
The optical tube of the Discovery Spark 114 AZ telescope is aimed using an altazimuth fork mount. The mount is equipped with a lock knob for precise and smooth vertical movements. The mirror is spherical in shape, and the telescope's optical elements are made of glass with anti-reflective coating. With a focal length of 900 mm, the telescope is capable of "reaching" even the faintest deep-sky objects and producing a clear, sharp, and crisp image.
The mount is installed on a sturdy metal tripod with adjustable legs. An accessory tray can be attached at the center of the tripod. The kit includes eyepieces with various focal lengths and a Barlow lens, offering the possibility to observe at different magnifications. If necessary, additional accessories can be added to the telescope: the eyepiece barrel has a standard diameter of 1.25", allowing the installation of numerous additional accessories.
