Levenhuk Solar Filter for 130mm Reflector Telescopes #68244

Exciting observations of the Sun with Levenhuk Solar Filter for 130mm Reflector Telescopes! This filter will help you learn all aspects of solar activity; and observe faculae, sunspots, and solar granulation in the photosphere.

Levenhuk Solar Filter for 130mm Reflector Telescopes is made using special Baader Planetarium AstroSolar Visual film. The film blocks 99.999% of the sunlight. It completely eliminates any harmful radiation, therefore allowing for safe solar viewing. The Baader Planetarium film has an even surface without bubbles or other defects, and that’s why this filter creates sharp and clear images. The film has a glass filter quality and provides excellent color rendition. When looking through this filter, the Sun has a neutral white color.

How to correctly choose a telescope solar filter

When choosing a solar filter you must consider more than optical design and aperture of your telescope, as the filter must not only cover the objective lens fully, but also fit the telescope’s tube snugly. It is recommended to also secure the filter on the optical tube with adhesive tape to prevent the filter from accidentally sliding off during observations.

The main criterion in choosing the right solar filter is the telescope’s tube/dew shield diameter in comparison with the filter’s inner diameter (when the filter is supposed to fit over the outside of the tube) or outer diameter (when the filter is supposed to be fixed inside the tube). Before purchasing this filter please measure the required diameter of your telescope’s tube and make sure that it matches the values in the Specifications table.

This solar filter fits the following Levenhuk telescopes:

• Levenhuk Skyline 130x900 EQ Telescope
• Levenhuk SkyMatic 135 GTA Telescope
• Levenhuk Skyline 120x1000 EQ Telescope

The filter may also be used with telescopes of other manufacturers with similar design and tube diameter. We recommend checking the inner and outer diameter of your telescope optical tube before purchasing the filter.

CAUTION! Never look directly at the Sun – even for an instant – through your telescope or finderscope without a professionally made solar filter that completely covers the front of the instrument, or permanent eye damage may result.
