Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 16" (400/1830) Retractable Dobsonian Telescope #86290

The Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 16" (400/1830) is a retractable open-truss telescope on a Dobsonian mount. This powerful and practical design represents a top-tier solution for breathtaking visual astronomy. With its 406mm aperture and 1830mm focal length, this telescope resolves fine planetary details: The dynamic cloud bands and Great Red Spot of Jupiter, the intricate structure of Saturn’s rings, the polar ice caps of Mars, and the distinct phases of Venus and Mercury. Its deep-sky capabilities bring celestial wonders within reach. Observe famous nebulae like the Orion, Ring, and Dumbbell; nearby galaxies such as Andromeda and the Whirlpool; rich clusters in Coma Berenices; and countless globular clusters. A favorite among lunar observers, this telescope uses its powerful optics to reveal our Moon’s surface in exceptional detail, resolving craters, mountain ranges, and rilles as small as 1.5–2km with striking clarity. Choosing the Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 16" is an investment in knowledge, vivid experience, and countless unforgettable nights under the stars.

A precisely engineered optical system ensures pure, natural color rendition. As a Newtonian reflector, this telescope eliminates chromatic aberration, so you will see no distracting color fringes or halos around stars or planets. The parabolic primary mirror correctly gathers and focuses light, eliminating spherical distortion and ensuring impeccable image sharpness. The optical elements are made of BK-7 glass and coated with aluminum, achieving a reflectivity of 92–95%. Image focus is easily adjusted using the dual-speed 2" rack-and-pinion focuser (with 1.25" adapter included). The package includes 10mm and 25mm Plössl eyepieces, providing magnifications of 183x and 73x, respectively. You can customize the telescope with a range of accessories to match your observation style. With a practical power limit of 800x, the Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 16" provides ample room for experimentation and high-magnification exploration.

The telescope’s optical tube uses a fixed open-truss design. It comes with a protective shroud to shield the optics from dust and is mounted on the included, manually operated Dobsonian base. The mount is crafted from sturdy, high-quality finished wood, providing a stable and durable base capable of supporting the heavy 32.1kg OTA.

For optimal performance within its operating range of −5°C to +35°C, allow 1.5–3 hours for the large primary mirror to thermally acclimate to nighttime conditions before beginning your observation session. Using the included mirror cooling fan can significantly reduce this acclimatization time and helps maintain stable image quality throughout your session.
