The Sun is one of the most interesting and exciting celestial objects to observe. But it is important to remember that monitoring solar activity always requires a protective filter! Special full-aperture solar filters, designed for telescopes, are placed in front of the lens before observation. This type of filter reduces the intensity of solar radiation to levels safe for the eye.
The Levenhuk solar filter for 105 mm MAK telescopes is made using the special AstroSolar Visual film from Baader Planetarium, which reduces the UV component of solar radiation and allows detailed observation of the Sun’s surface. The filter has no intrinsic defects or bubbles; the quality of the final image can compete with that obtained with plane-parallel glass filters. The Levenhuk solar filter for 105 mm MAK telescopes allows observing the Sun for long periods. It will be possible to see granulation and sunspot structures. The observed image of the Sun will be a neutral white color.
How to choose the correct solar filter for a telescope
When choosing a solar filter, other elements must be considered beyond the optical design and aperture of the telescope, since the filter must not only cover the objective completely but also adhere perfectly to the telescope tube. It is also recommended to secure the filter to the optical tube with adhesive tape to prevent it from slipping accidentally during observation.
The main criterion for selecting the right solar filter is the diameter of the telescope tube/anti-dew ring in relation to the internal diameter of the filter (if it must fit on the outside of the tube) or the external diameter (if the filter must be placed inside the tube). Before purchasing this filter, please measure the appropriate diameter of your telescope tube, ensuring it corresponds to the values in the Technical Specifications table.
| Specifications | |
| Optical density | 5,0 |
| Filter aperture (film diameter), mm | 70 |
| Internal diameter, mm | 117 |
| External diameter, mm | 120 |

This solar filter can be used with the following Levenhuk telescopes:
Product 65577 is not available
Levenhuk Skyline PRO 105 MAK telescope
Levenhuk SkyMatic 105 GT MAK telescope
The filter can also be used with telescopes from other manufacturers that have a similar design and the same tube diameter. It is recommended to check the internal and external diameter of the telescope’s optical tube before purchasing the filter.
WARNING! Never look directly at the Sun, even for a moment, through the telescope or finder without using professionally made solar filters that completely cover the instrument’s aperture, to avoid permanent eye damage.
