The optical tube with Levenhuk Ra R66 ED Carbon doublet is an apochromatic refractor equipped with a carbon fiber body, which makes it lighter and more compact than many other telescopes and therefore practical for field use. This telescope reproduces clear and high-contrast images, offers an excellent panoramic view, and is outstanding for astrophotography. It is possible to take unforgettable photos of the starry sky using this optical tube without a mount (OTA), but it also proves more than suitable for direct observations. With this OTA, you can observe all objects in the Messier catalog, many nebulae, various star clusters, as well as some planets of the Solar System.
The optics are made of extra-low dispersion glass, so the reproduced image is not affected by the chromatic distortions that affect most refractors, including achromatic ones. These optics effectively reduce chromatic aberrations, especially second-order and spherochromatic ones. As a result, the image quality is excellent even at high magnification. The integrated dual-speed Crayford focuser allows precise and smooth focusing adjustment.
Since the optics are housed in a carbon fiber body, temperature stabilization occurs at twice the speed. This is because the properties of carbon do not change with temperature, so to start observations it is only necessary to wait for the optics to “cool down.” This optical tube can be installed on most modern mounts. The kit also includes a convenient and sturdy aluminum case for protecting and transporting the telescope.
