The Levenhuk Ra 200N Dobson telescope is a 200 mm Newtonian reflector designed for observing deep-sky objects, including star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies. It is also possible to observe the planets of the Solar System: Mars, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, etc., as well as their satellites. This telescope is appreciated by demanding amateur astronomers who want a broad-spectrum observation experience. The telescope is easy to use, even for beginners.
Parabolic primary mirror and active cooling of optics
The primary mirror features a parabolic shape that minimizes optical distortions during high magnification observations. Its surface is coated with aluminum with a reflection coefficient of 92~96%. This positively affects the contrast and brightness of the transmitted image. It is possible to adjust the focus with a dual-speed Crayford achromatic focuser. It is backlash-free and firmly supports even the heaviest optical accessories for quick and accurate focusing.
The rear cover of the telescope tube is equipped with a cooling fan. It allows achieving thermal equilibrium of the telescope almost twice as fast, thus enabling observations to start with less waiting time. The fan is battery-powered (batteries sold separately).
Dobsonian mount with side bearings equipped with a braking system for smoother tube movement
This telescope is equipped with a classic Dobsonian mount. Its design is conventional and benefits from all the advantages of this type of mount, yet its mechanisms have been significantly improved. The special side bearings equipped with a braking system for smoother tube movement allow the optical tube to be moved a few centimeters up or down. When using additional accessories, the system quickly rebalances the telescope, maximizing its stability.
On the sides of the mount, there are graduated scales for more practical balancing. Additionally, the bearings are durable and ensure smooth movement, which is very important when using the telescope at high magnifications.
