The Levenhuk Nelson 8x42 monocular will be a faithful companion for the detailed study of distant objects, calculating the distance to them or determining the direction. This optical instrument features an integrated rangefinder and compass. It is a perfect tool for fishing enthusiasts or sea hiking.
The instrument dials can be seen through the eyepieces. All calculations are performed manually based on visual values. It is possible to calculate the distance of objects with a known size (height) using the rangefinder indications and a formula. Alternatively, if the size of an object is known, you can calculate the distance from it.
The division value on the compass is 1°. The instrument indicates the direction to the object in degrees. North is at 360°, south is at 180°, east is at 90°, and west is at 270°. The compass does not have illumination, so natural light is necessary for observations.
This lightweight and compact instrument features 8x magnification and a 42 mm aperture. The monocular with a wide field of view (120 m at a distance of 1000 m) allows comfortable study of extended objects.
The optical elements are made of BaK-4 glass. Fully multi-coated lenses provide a bright and clear image. The diopter adjustment of the eyepiece is customizable over a wide range.
The waterproof body is made of sturdy yet lightweight plastic. Nitrogen filling prevents the lenses from fogging during sudden temperature changes.
We recommend using this monocular with the Levenhuk FS10 floating strap when near water, as this brightly colored accessory will prevent the optical instrument from sinking and being lost.
