Levenhuk MED D20T LCD Digital Trinocular Microscope

The Levenhuk MED D20T digital microscope for microbiology, with LCD screen, is a professional optical instrument for brightfield observations. Its main feature is a 5 MP digital camera with an LCD screen that can transmit, in real time, the image from the microscope objective and record videos and take photos of the research. Moreover, the microscope uses semi-planachromatic lenses and allows Köhler illumination adjustment. The microscope is useful for solving a wide range of problems in the fields of microbiology and medicine and for research in various scientific fields.

High-level semi-planachromatic optics

The trinocular head, rotatable 360°, has a binocular viewing part inclined at 30°. A beam splitter is present. A digital camera is installed on the vertical tube. The wide-field eyepieces provide good visibility and allow diopter adjustment. The objectives offer several magnifications. The 40x and 100x objectives have a spring-loaded protective mount. It is possible to conduct observations at maximum magnification using immersion oil (a bottle of immersion oil is included in the kit). The lenses are protected with an antifungal coating.

Comfortable work with slides

Under the optical unit is a double-layer mechanical stage equipped with a graduated scale. The coarse and fine focus knobs, with fine-thread gearing, allow sharpness adjustment. Observations are conducted in transmitted light thanks to a 20 W halogen light source located under an Abbe condenser, equipped with diaphragm and filter holder. The kit includes three filters. Brightness is adjustable. The microscope is powered by an AC power supply.

It is also worth mentioning the digital camera, which besides the LCD screen, is compatible with various additional devices. It is possible to connect a mouse, keyboard, and headphones to the camera. The objective image can be transmitted to an integrated external display. Flash drives and memory cards are supported. The camera does not require additional software installation. Thanks to the software, it is possible to edit recorded photos and videos, choose the file storage location, change camera settings, or perform simple photo and video processing. The software allows changing image size, brightness and contrast, gamma, sharpness and saturation, exposure time, and white balance, calibrating the camera and objective lenses; it also enables measurement of samples and structures (various measurement units available). Additionally, the program enables granulometric particle analysis. The camera makes laboratory work easier and more comfortable for researchers: it is not necessary to observe slides through eyepieces when the image is visible on the integrated LCD screen with touch controls.
