The NT50 thickness gauge by Ermenrich is a portable instrument for measuring the coating thickness of ferrous or non-ferrous metal surfaces. The surface may have paint, varnish, primer, filler putty, or any other type of coating. Simply placing the sensor on the surface will allow the reading to be taken without damaging the coating.
Useful when buying a used car, as it will quickly determine if the car has been in an accident. The coating thickness could indeed change following repairs, and the instrument will be able to detect it. It can also be used to test anti-corrosion coatings and fireproof coatings during construction work, to determine the condition of vehicles during use, and to check the quality of the paint of metal objects.
The device features a large monochrome screen that allows 180° image rotation at the touch of a button. The device memory can store up to 30 readings. It has single measurement and scanning mode functions. It is also possible to select units of measurement. The instrument operates with standard batteries and features an automatic shut-off function to save energy. It is factory pre-calibrated; however, if necessary, it can be self-calibrated. The kit includes two samples of basic metal materials (black metal and non-ferrous) and five calibration plates.
