We are proud to present the Discovery line of optical instruments, produced by Levenhuk and sponsored by Discovery.
The Discovery 709 EQ is an excellent choice for budding users. This long focal length refractor with achromatic optics allows viewing the planets of the Solar System, studying the lunar surface details, and observing some deep sky objects. During the day, this telescope can serve as a terrestrial spotting scope, providing magnified images of distant objects and thus enabling nature observation.
One of the advantages of this model is its equatorial mount with knobs for micrometric movement control. It will help master precise pointing and tracking of celestial objects. Regarding the optics, it is an achromatic configuration and therefore free of chromatic aberrations, which are otherwise common in refractors. The lenses are treated with an anti-reflective coating, ensuring clear and crisp images. Observations at different focal lengths are possible. The kit includes three eyepieces, a mirror diagonal, an erecting eyepiece for terrestrial observations, and a powerful Barlow lens.
All these accessories can be conveniently placed on a tray located at the center of the tripod legs, so they are always within reach. The telescope features a standard 1.25' focuser that allows experimenting with a wide range of additional accessories if needed. Another special feature of the Discovery Spark 709 EQ is the educational book “Space. Non-empty Vacuum.” This illustrated manual will help users learn many things about the sky before starting observations or allow them to review their knowledge.
