Discovery Channel informs, entertains, and inspires its audience around the world about the wonders of our planet, its diversity, and its surprises. Offering millions of people the opportunity to make new discoveries and satisfy their curiosities, Discovery provides an engaging mix of storytelling, spanning multiple genres: science and technology, exploration, adventure, history, and a behind-the-scenes look at people, places, and organizations shaping the world we live in.
We are proud to present the Discovery line of optical instruments, produced by Levenhuk and sponsored by Discovery.
The Discovery Spark 114 EQ is a long focal length reflector perfect for in-depth study of the night sky. It makes it possible to study distant galaxies, observe charming nebulae and double stars, as well as see various other objects from the Messier catalog. This telescope is also suitable for initial explorations of the Solar System. A special filter for lunar observations is included.
The 114 mm diameter spherical mirror is the main component of the optical group of the Discovery Spark 114 EQ. Thanks to the combination of the long focal length and anti-reflective optical coating, the image is clear, rich in contrast, and with well-defined details. The equatorial mount, complete with knobs for micrometric movement control and counterweight, allows precise aiming of the telescope tube toward celestial bodies and smooth tracking of their movement.
The tripod is made of aluminum and remains stable even on rough terrain. At the center of the three legs, there is an accessory tray where the Barlow lens and eyepieces can be placed. All the listed elements are included in the package. If necessary, the instrument can be enhanced with additional accessories. The rack-and-pinion focuser has a standard diameter of 1.25', offering great compatibility with various accessories. The kit also includes an educational book, the perfect gift for those who want to learn more about the objects observed through the telescope eyepiece.
