Discovery Pico is a monocular biological microscope with achromatic optics designed primarily for beginner users. It is especially suitable for studying the microcosm at school and university, as well as for an initial introduction to microbiology. It is a sturdy and easy-to-use microscope that produces a sharp and detailed image and is sold accompanied by the educational book "Invisible World."

The microscope is equipped with a monocular head. The head can be rotated 360° around the vertical axis, making observations more comfortable. Additionally, the head can be tilted 30°. The tilt is intended to make prolonged study more comfortable. The optical system includes achromatic objectives with magnifications of 4x, 10x, and 40x and a wide-field 10x eyepiece. The 40x objective has a retractable spring mechanism that protects the front lens. The magnification range of this microscope is from 40x to 400x. The optics are made of glass.

Dual LED illumination allows for the study of samples with any degree of transparency: opaque, semi-transparent, and transparent. The brightness of the illumination is adjustable. It is possible to use standard batteries (included) or mains power (AC adapter included) to power the backlighting.

Slides are secured on the stage with clips. There is a disk diaphragm to regulate the light beam coming from the lower LED below the stage. The microscope features coarse and fine focusing, allowing for quicker and more comfortable sharpness adjustments. The microscope body is made of metal.

The kit includes the educational book "Invisible World" about the wonders of the microcosm. It tells about the small creatures that can be studied under the microscope, the structure of this optical instrument, and scientific experiments that can be performed directly at home. The book is written in simple language, minimizing the use of complex scientific terms and includes vivid illustrations.
