The Discovery Basics CN5 insect jar is a small jar with transparent walls, equipped with two magnifying lenses: one fixed on the lid and one rotatable, mounted on pins. It will be possible to easily and safely analyze the tiny creatures of the world around us. The jar can host an insect, a spider, a fruit fly, and even a fish: you just need to remember to fill it with water first, of course. Once the jar is closed, the specimen can be studied from any angle. It is also possible to insert twigs, algae, minerals, and many other inanimate objects into the jar.

The lenses offer magnifications of 3x and 8x: the study objects can thus be observed at different sizes. The jar is made of plastic, so it is not at risk of breaking in case of accidental drops.
