MAGUS SPH360 Phase Contrast Device, with set of Plan S-Apo Ph 4х/10х/20х/40х/60х H60mm objectives #85160

The MAGUS SPH360 phase contrast device consists of phase contrast sliders and a set of phase objectives. The phase contrast device is used to study transparent low-contrast specimens that are not visible in the bright field. Staining kills living cells. The main advantage of the technique is that it may be used to study living unstained organisms in their natural state. The technique is applied in medicine, ecology, pharmacology, agriculture, etc.

Phase contrast sliders

The phase contrast slider is installed in the condenser slot. The slider is a plate with round holes: A free hole is for brightfield observations; the other holes have phase inserts that match the objectives being used. The phase contrast device includes two sliders: One has an insert that operates in tandem with 10x, 20x, and 40x objectives; the other insert operates in tandem with 4х and 60x objectives. The marking of the insert matches the objective being used. The slider allows you to easily switch from the brightfield observations to the phase contrast microscopy and back again. The slider annular diaphragms are aligned with the objective phase rings using a centering telescope supplied with the microscope.

Plan semi-apochromatic phase objectives

Phase objectives have a phase ring in the plane of the exit pupil. They have a different level of aberration correction compared to the phase objectives included in the microscope kit.Plan semi-apochromatic objectives have chromatic aberrations that are corrected for four colors, spherical aberration corrected for three colors, and field curvature corrected for 90% of the field of view diameter. The image in the eyepieces and through the digital camera is cleaner, has more contrast, and it is brighter than with a regular plan achromatic objective.
The 4х, 10х, 20x, and 40x objectives are used in order to work with dishes that have a bottom thickness of 1.2mm. The 60x objective has a correction ring.Rotation of the ring changes the distance between the inner lenses of the objective, thereby adjusting the objective optics to work with dishes with a bottom thickness of 0.1mm to 1.3mm.The objectives are designed for the infinity-corrected tube length. The parfocal distance is 60mm.
